By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Services has just issued an update on the breakdown of location of patients identified as new cases of COVID-19 in Belize.

Last night, the Ministry OF Health informed of 64 new cases.

The DHS notes that the 3 new cases in the Stann Creek District are all related to a previously identified case (all members of a family/same household).

Of the 13 cases reported in the Belize District ( excluding San Pedro), 4 are related to previously identified cases, the others are being traced.

The eleven new cases in the Orange Walk District include patients mostly from Yo Creek. There are also patients in Guinea Grass, San Jose Palmar, August Pine Ridge and Orange Walk Town.

The 11 new identified cases of the Cayo District include patients from Belmopan, Benque Viejo, San Jose Succotz, Bullet Tree, Duck Run and Santa Elena.

Twenty six new cases were also identified on San Pedro on Saturday.

The Central Medical Laboratory is not running any batch of samples today as they are preparing samples for processing tomorrow as well as routine quality control measures.

The Ministry can confirm 4 new cases today.
