By BBN Staff: The latest data from the Ministry of Health (MOH) shows that Toledo and Stann Creek have the lowest reported number of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The Ministry’s last infographic, released last night, shows that Toledo has only one confirmed infection out of a total of 245 samples processed. Meanwhile Stann Creek has a total of 14 confirmed infections from a total 394 tests.
San Pedro, Ambergris Caye which forms a part of the MOH’s Central Health Region, continues to lead in the country in terms of number of infections, with a total of 158 confirmed cases out of a total of 438 tests. Orange Walk has the second-most number of infections with 129 positive cases out of a total 911 tests conducted, while the Belize District is the third-most affected district, with 74 positive cases out of a total of 1,518 tests.
Corozal is next in line with 42 positive cases out of a total of 606 tests while Cayo ends off the list with 34 positive cases out of a total of 968 tests.
Notably, Toledo, Cayo, and Orange Walk have communities on the border with Guatemala; however, Orange Walk has more confirmed cases than Cayo and Toledo combined.
