19 more COVID-19 cases detected today, total confirmed cases now at 475

By BBN Staff: Nineteen (19) new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Belize today. Including the 4 cases detected yesterday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now 475.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 164 samples were processed today. The breakdown of the 19 cases today along with the 4 cases identified yesterday is as follows:

– Orange Walk – 1

– Corozal – 4

– Cayo – 4 (3 in Belmopan – health care workers)

– Belize 14 (6 in San Pedro, the remaining in Belize City)

Three (3) persons have recovered today bringing the number of recovered cases to 38.

The Ministry reports that there are currently 6 patients at the Karl Huesner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), of which 3 are intubated.

In the COVID-19 update released a short while ago Belizeans are advised to “continue to remain safe by practicing physical distancing and overall good hygienic practices”.
