By BBN Staff: 63 year old Carlos Peralta Jr., a resident of Orange Walk, is the 4th person in Belize to die from COVID-19 related complications. Peralta suffered a heart attack and died while being treated at a private facility in Belize City.

The Director of Health Services reported last night that a COVID-19 sample was taken after his passing and the results came back positive. Peralta’s family also notes that the COVID-19 test was conducted in an attempt to “rule out the possibility of an infection”.

The family of Carlos Peralta Jr. informed in the death announcement that they have decided to cancel “the wake and all funeral arrangements to avoid the possible spread of COVID-19”.

Blood clots that can lead to other complications, including heart attacks, are now identified as one of the symptoms displayed by individuals who are infected with COVID-19.
