Belize City woman slashed to her neck, critical after refusing to lend out money

By BBN Staff: A Belize City woman from a Lindos Alley address in the Conch Shell Bay area of Belize City is in critical condition at a private hospital after being slashed to her neck on Monday for reportedly refusing to lend a man money.

According to police, Rosa Delia Chinchia, 59, was at home when a man she knows came over and asked to borrow some money from her. When she refused his request, the suspect became angered and allegedly inflicted a large cut wound to her throat.

The suspect then fled after committing the crime. Police found Chinchia at her residence and she was later rushed for medical attention.

Police have since detained the suspect who is pending charges of attempted murder following police investigations.
