Economic Development and Social Investment Fund staff out due to employees testing positive for COVID-19

By BBN Staff: Employees from both the Ministry of Economic Development and the Social Investment Fund (SIF) are currently not at work due to employees testing positive for COVID-19.

An employee from the Economic Development ministry and at least one employee from SIF have tested positive for COVID-19 and are under quarantine.

As a precautionary measure both the Ministry and SIF are sanitizing their respective offices. In addition, staff members from both institutions were sent home and in some cases continue to work from home.

Today, the Ministry of Health informed that 52 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Belize yesterday, 5 of which are in the Cayo District.
