By BBN Staff: Reliable reports to Breaking Belize News (BBN) indicate that an employee of the Ministry of Works (MOW) has tested positive for COVID-19. The person is a senior officer in the Santa Elena offices of the Ministry of Works and a close associate of the Minister of Works, Rene Montero, and one of his administrative staff in Belmopan.

As a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Works branch in Santa Elena sent home their staff this morning and closed their offices for sanitization.

The Department of Transport, Cayo branch, also has their office in the MOW compound in Santa Elena, and as a result the transport officers there were also sent home today.

Reports to BBN is that the Ministry of Works offices in Belmopan are also being sanitized as a precautionary measure, and therefore the offices may have to be temporarily closed.

The Ministry of Health informed that today it will provide an updated infographic showing the new COVID-19 cases and their locations.
