By Aaron Humes: A couple from the Las Flores subdivision of Belmopan and owners of a shop in the area, were robbed while delivering groceries at a residence at Mile 21 on the Hummingbird Highway earlier today.
According to police, 55-year-old Jose Santos Ortiz and his wife Irma were delivering groceries to a customer from their cargo truck when they were approached by three armed men of Hispanic descent.
Two of the men were masked, wearing hats and blue long sleeved shirts and long dark pants, while the other was in a green t-shirt and long pants.
The couple were forced to hand over $900 in sales to the trio who fled into the surrounding area.
Police are investigating.
