By Aaron Humes: In tonight’s Ask the Experts, Attorney General Michael Peyreffite, outlined that competitive and recreational sports and other social events are prohibited except for weddings and funerals with up to ten guests. Church services are also restricted.

The A.G. advised organizations and churches to be creative and employ technology while pointing out violations among some churches. One church in San Pedro Town was the reported epicenter of a cluster of COVID-19 cases on the island.

Bars, rum shops, nightclubs and casinos are joined by gyms on the closed list from tomorrow while spas, barber shops and beauty salons will operate by appointments only.

The A.G. advised that larger establishments may accommodate up to one more person with an appointment, but they must wear masks and practice social distancing and the appointments must be staggered.

Restaurants are limited to takeout, delivery and drive-through services.

Street vendors are limited to selling from home or on private property in one area (only the former for lockdown areas), which even Peyrefitte grieves as he claims he prefers to eat his volume on site. But it is necessary to prevent continued spread of COVID-19 in Belize.
