618 active cases of COVID-19 in Belize

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health informed that it has detected 20 new cases of COVID-19. A total of 165 samples were processed.
The patients are from:
Cayo – 1 in Ontario linked to a previous case.
Corozal – 6 all linked to previous cases
BeliZe – 2 – 1 in San Pedro and 1 in the city linked to a previous case
Orange Walk -11 – 9 linked to previous cases
One patient has recovered from COVID-19.
The Office of the Director of Health Services informed that 43 cases were detected on Friday. Two additional cases were identified.
The GeneXpert platform picked up a case in a patient died with liver complications but was diagnosed with COVID-19.
A patient who had tested positive for COVID-19 also delivered a baby via C-Section.
The mom and the child are recovering at KHMH.
