Posted: Sunday, August 23, 2020. 7:54 am CST.

Despite forecasting high temperatures, the National Meteorological Service of Belize (Met Service) says that unstable weather conditions will still produce periods of rain over several areas today, leading into tonight.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with some cloudy spells today and for skies to be cloudy at times tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will be isolated with a few more occurring inland today, then mainly over central and southern areas tonight.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 97 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 83 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

“Residents, especially those inland are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible,” the Met Service said.

Winds will be blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be choppy.

Low time began at 7:20 a.m. and high tide will come in at 1:23 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:12 p.m. and the moon will rise at 10:05 a.m.
