ComPol commends brave artist who saved tamales vendor from robbery

By BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, publicly commended artist, Alex Sanker, for his heroic effort today in springing into action to aid a tamales vendor who was being robbed today.

“Mr. Sanker’s act is a demonstration of bravery, selflessness and patriotism,” Williams said via a post on his Facebook page.

“As a society we must stand together in unison against those who threaten our peaceful way of life,” he continued.

Williams added he was aware that Sanker had been threatened by the men who tried to rob the vendor. WIlliams said the department will not take the threat lightly and will provide Sanker and his family with some protection to ensure their safety.

Sanker took a stick from inside his painting studio and ran to the vendor’s aid when he heard the commotion today. The young men ran off without their bicycles but threatened to return to harm him.
