By BBN Staff: Belizean Walter Morales, 39, was busted by the border patrol team in the Santa Cruz Area with an assortment of contraband items.
Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams said that the team had already spotted Morales and others unloading a canoe that came from the Mexican side after 7 p.m. last night.
When the team moved in to arrest the men, two escaped in the bushes while the officers were able to detain one.
Morales was taken to be swabbed and placed into quarantine.
