By Aaron Humes: Minister of Health Pablo Marin, a resident of Corozal Town, appears to have reportedly shot and killed a man he suspected of burglarizing his home on Thursday night.
While police have issued no formal reports thus far, our sources say the Minister confronted the burglar who had already apparently ransacked the lower flat of his residence with his licensed 9-millimeter pistol.
The East Indian man said to be from San Antonio, Corozal District, fled after an initial warning shot by Marin, but was found dead in an adjacent open lot, crouching.
Marin told police he had fired twice more after the fleeing intruder.
Police are said to have confirmed signs of a burglary and three expended shells recovered as their investigations continue.
