By Aaron Humes: Former President of the United States Barack Obama has led tributes to the late Chadwick Boseman following the actor’s sudden death Friday night at the age of 43.
The 42, Get on Up and Black Panther actor lived with terminal colon cancer for four years but told no one but his immediate family, while continuing to work.
President Obama recalled a visit by Boseman while he was in the White House in 2013, when he played baseball legend, Jackie Robinson, in 42.
“Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson. You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years,” Obama posted on his personal Facebook page.
Earlier today, Twitter announced that the star’s final post on social media platform is the most liked tweet ever. The tweet, posted on Boseman’s official Twitter account, included a picture of the actor and his family’s announcement of his death.
Numerous co-stars and friends of Boseman began paying tribute, expressing their shock and sadness, as soon as the death of the star was made known.
