By BBN Staff: Today the Office of the Director of Health Services (ODHS) in the Ministry of Health said today that people in communities all over Belize are still ignoring the State of Emergency regulations and hosting large gatherings as Belize’s COVID-19 cases continue to spike.

The ODHS issued a breakdown of the latest 94 confirmed cases by district, this afternoon, stressing that communities not on the list should not assume that they are in the clear.

“It saddens us to note that big parties are still being reported in communities across the country, this will not help in flattening any curve. Stay home unless you really have essential activities away from home,” the ODHS said.

The breakdown by district is as follows: Belize District-26 (17 of which are in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye), Cayo-7, Corozal -7, Orange Walk-45, Stann Creek 9. Orange Walk Town had the highest number of cases in the district (20 cases).
