Forty-three healthcare workers have tested positive for COVID-19

By BBN Staff: The COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate millions of families across the world.

In Belize, health professionals and other front line workers continue to work diligently in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.

The Director of Health Services (DHS) noted that from the beginning of the pandemic up to now, 43 healthcare workers in Belize have tested positive for COVID-19.

Of the 43 healthcare workers, 11 are doctors and 10 are nurses.

Seven health inspectors and 4 pharmacists also tested positive.

Two lab technicians, 4 hospital workers, and 5 more healthcare workers also tested positive for COVID-19.

The country has now registered 1,007 confirmed cases of the virus.
