Football star Neymar tests positive for COVID-19 following vacation

By BBN Staff: Neymar, the Brazilian football star who plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) of France has tested positive for the COVID-19 following a vacation in the Spanish island of Ibiza off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean sea. Neymar went into self-isolation immediately after receiving his test results on Wednesday morning but according to Sky Sports News he claims to feel very good.

French newspapers are reporting that Neymar and two (2) of his teammates, Argentinian Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes went on the vacation to Ibiza and all three (3) tested positive for COVID-19. Angel Di Maria is also in self-isolation in Paris and as a result, the players may miss PSG’s first game of the upcoming French football league.

On August 23rd this year, PSG was the runner up for the European Champions league title after nail-biting 1-0 loss to Germany’s Bayern Munich.

Neymar and Di Maria, are two (2) of the world’s high profile athletes to test positive for COVID-19 in the last few weeks. Recently, CNN reported that world renowned sprinter Usain Bolt from Jamaica tested positive for COVID-19 after hosting a party in his home country.  Paul Pogba from Manchester United and who also plays on the French national team recently tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
