NEMO: Hurricane shelters opening across country

Posted: Wednesday, September 2, 2020. 6:21 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) informs that hurricane shelters across the country are opening.

NEMO continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nana as it approaches Belize.

“We implore all seeking shelter to wear a mask, practice social distance, clean hand regularly and practice good cough and sneeze etiquette. You are encouraged to bring along your food, water and basic needs. Police patrol is requested to monitor fuel stations.” NEMO reminds.

NEMO also reminds the public of all COVID-19 shelter protocols. Everyone must wear their masks, practice social distancing and clean their hands and all surfaces regularly.

“All are advised to seek shelter before last light, batten down and weather the storm. The COVID 9 pm to 5 am curfew is still in effect,” NEMO said.
