Belize Electricity Limited restores power in Stann Creek District

By BBN Staff: The Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) informed that its teams have completed power restoration in the Stann Creek District.

“Power supply has been restored to most customers in the Stann Creek District where the majority of the damages were sustained to the power system, following the passage of Hurricane Nana early this morning,” the company said.

BEL teams worked throughout today and completed restoration to areas without electricity as follows:

BEL says that restoration works in remaining areas are expected to be completed by 9:00 p.m. including portions of Hopkins and Sittee.

Customers in any area of the country who may currently be without power supply or those who are unable to connect to BEL’s supply due to damaged service entrances, are asked to call 0-800-235-2273 or send a message on Facebook or WhatsApp at +501-600-6097. In cases where Social or Residential customers are unable to cover the cost of repairs, BEL will offer assistance.
