By BBN Staff: Director of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Marvin Manzanero, said that Belize saw two COVID-19 related deaths within a 24-hour span.
Manzanero said that the first victim is a female who was hospitalized with respiratory issues for a week at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH). The patient passed earlier today.
The second patient was a man from rural Belize that was taken to the KHMH without symptoms of COVID-19. He was suffering from fatigue along with loss of appetite and died shortly after reaching the hospital and tested positive posthumously.
Manzanero said that COVID-19 will not be listed on his death certificate as the primary cause, but will be listed as an associated cause.
