Health officials monitor 866 active cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: Over the last few weeks, Belize has experienced an exponential increase in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Health officials are currently monitoring 866 active cases of the virus.

The country has now registered 1,152 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Of the active cases, 404 are females and 462 are males.

Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero said that the evidence so far suggests that females are recovering faster than males.

Nine thousand and seventy three tests have been conducted and the Ministry of Health continues to process samples.

So far, 271 people in Belize have recovered while 15 persons have lost their lives to COVID-19.
