Infamous gang boss “Big Tom” arrested for grotesque Facebook live video

Posted: Saturday, September 5, 2020. 10:23 am CST.

By BBN Staff: A video showing an act of sexual coercion was circulated widely on social media on Thursday.

The person coercing a woman to perform the sexual acts on another man is an infamous gang figure from Belize City, Kenneth “Big Tom” Flowers.

After being made aware of the video, the Commissioner of Police Chester Williams issued a statement informing that a police investigation was immediately launched.

Special Envoy for women and children, Kim Barrow also issued a statement condemning the video of the woman being forced to perform a sexual act on Facebook live.

In an interview with the media, Williams informed that the police have detained Flowers.

Williams shared that the young woman doesn’t want to cooperate with police because she is concerned about Big Tom rather than herself.

“We have brought her mother into the picture to see what kind of support she can offer to her daughter and we are hoping that she will be able to get additional support maybe from the Women’s Department to look at the issue of counseling and emotional and moral support. I had looked at the criminal amendment that deals with sexual offences and we have identified 3 offences for which Big Tom, the owner of the house and another person who was present can be charged,” Williams explained.

Williams informed that under the current state of emergency for Southside of Belize City, Big Tom, the owner of the house and the other person who was at the house will be sent to prison.

The police hope that in so doing, the victim will cooperate.
