Health officials monitoring 977 active cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: Over the last few weeks, Belize has experienced a rapid increase in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Health officials are currently monitoring 977 active cases of the virus.

So far, the country has registered 1,307 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Of the active cases, 460 are females and 517 are males.

Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero said that the evidence so far suggests that females are recovering faster than males.

Nine thousand eight hundred sixty three tests have been conducted and the Ministry of Health continues to process samples.

Three hundred and fourteen people in Belize have recovered while 16 persons have lost their lives due to the virus.
