Minister of National Security participates in search for missing police officer

By BBN Staff: Minister of National Security, Michael Peyrefitte, joined the joint security forces team in Toledo this morning as they searched for missing police officer Bernard Ical.

Peyrefitte, joined Commissioner of Police Chester Williams on a fly over in a Belize Defense Force helicopter and also visited the Machakilah Operation Post (OP), from where P.C. Ical went missing.

A team of 70 people comprised of police officers, BDF soldiers and Belize Coast Guard personnel are looking for Ical but to date he has not been found and there have been no clues as to his whereabouts.

The police department issued a statement this afternoon saying “The team will remain in the area to search for a number of days, making sure they cover the grounds as much as they possible can.”

Ical was last seen in Wednesday, September 2.
