“Unstable weather to improve by this afternoon,” says Met Service

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Met Service) says that slightly moist and unstable conditions will continue this morning with improving weather starting this afternoon.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with some cloudy spells today. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue mainly along coastal areas this morning and then decrease this afternoon. Tonight will be partly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms becoming generally isolated.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 66 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be light and variable and the sea state will be slight.

“A flood watch remains in effect for the possibility of flooding near rivers and streams in southern Belize,” the Met Service said.

Low tide began at 7:22 a.m. and high tide will come in at 1:12 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:01 p.m. and the moon will rise at 9:40 p.m.
