Fox News is reporting that a member of Norway’s Parliament has nominated United States President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize, for his role in brokering peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The nomination came from Christian Tybring-Gjedde, who, in his letter to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, praised Trump for his efforts toward resolving protracted conflicts worldwide. Tybring-Gjedde reportedly went as far as saying that Trump has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees.
Fox News quotes Tybring-Gjedde as saying “As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.”
He also said that Trump played a key role in facilitating contact between conflicting parties such as India and Pakistan, and the conflict between North and South Korea, along with dealing with North Korea’s nuclear capabilities.
