By BBN Staff: The People’s United Party (PUP) last night launched its agricultural plan under the theme “From farm to table”. Details of the plan was presented by Jose Mai, PUP’s Shadow Minister of Agricuture.
PUP Leader John Briceno shared plans that a new PUP government would implement to assist farmers and boost agriculture in Belize.
Briceno said that the party’s agricultural plan is pro-agro business and pro-farmers. “Our agricultural plan was designed by the people and for the people,” Briceno stated.
According to party officials, consultations were held with farmers, farm leaders, producers and other professionals.
PUP’s standard bearer for Orange Walk North, Ramon “Monchi” Cervantes supported the plan and explained that farmers would have access to better markets and better prices for their products.
Cervantes also shared that the party plans to implement the teaching of agriculture in secondary schools.
The agriculture plan is one of the many plans that the PUP has in their #planBelize to Build a Belize that works for everyone.
