By BBN Staff: An ill child is in desperate need of a blood donation and his family is asking the public to assist.
Baby Alexander Sierra, who is around 18-months old, has a life-saving surgery scheduled for Thursday, September 17; however, doctors say that if he does not get the blood it will have to be postponed.
Sierra is blood type B-Positive, meaning he can receive blood types B-Positive, B-Negative, O-Positive, and O-Negative.
Anyone able to assist is asked to make the donation in Sierra’s name at the National Blood Transfusion Service (Blood Bank) at the old nursing school compound adjacent to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
