By Aaron Humes: Governor-General of Belize Sir Colville Young has received, virtually, the credentials of three non-resident ambassadors to Belize who can now take up their posts.
César F. González Hernandez, of Colombia; Luigi de Chiara of Italy; and Päivi Pohjanheimo, of Finland, introduced themselves today by virtual conference with Belize House.
The Governor-General graciously accepted the ambassadors’ credentials and expressed his hope that they may one day soon be able to come to Belize.
The ambassadors thanked the Governor-General for the acceptance and conveyed on behalf of their respective countries the intentions of strengthening diplomatic relations with Belize, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
