Police looking into abuse video

By Aaron Humes: On Sunday Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, cried shame on a disturbing video purporting to show domestic abuse on the open streets of Belize City.

The video captures a man beating a woman. Others are seen standing around, not intervening.

The Commissioner promised an investigation, and on Monday deputy head of National Crimes Investigation Branch (NCIB), Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero, said one was underway.

But so far, Romero said, there has been no formal complaint, which hampers the investigation somewhat.
