31 new cases of COVID-19 identified today; 46 more have recovered

By BBN Staff: In the COVID-19 update released earlier tonight, the Ministry of Health reported that 31 new cases of COVID-19 were identified today out of a total of 224 tests that were done.

The new cases are distributed as follows:

Cayo District – 6 (1 in Belmopan, 5 in San Ignacio)
Belize District – 7 (1 Ladyville, 1 Double Head Cabbage, 1 Progresso, 3 San Pedro, 1 Belize City)
Orange Walk District – 18 (5 in OW Town, 1 San Jose Palmar, 3 Guinea Grass, 2 San Jose, 2 San Pablo, 2 August Pine Ridge, 1 Carmelita, 1 Yo
Creek and 1 from Corozal Town but detected in OW)

Forty six more cases are considered recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 742. The total number of confirmed cases in Belize now stands at 1,567, with 806 (51.4%) of them still active.
