By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health, through the Office of the Director of Health Services (ODHS), issued a COVID-19 situation report today, noting that more than half of the total number of cases remain active.
The ODHS said that there were a total of 224 tests done today with 31 new cases identified.
They are distributed geographically as follows:
Cayo District – 6 (1 in Belmopan, 5 in San Ignacio)
Belize District – 7 (1 Ladyville, 1 Double Head Cabbage, 1 Progresso,
3 San Pedro, 1 Belize City)
Orange Walk District – 18 (5 in OW Town, 1 San Jose Palmar, 3 Guinea
Grass, 2 San Jose, 2 San Pablo, 2 August Pine Ridge, 1 Carmelita, 1 Yo
Creek, 1 from Corozal Town but detected in OW)
“We have a total of 46 recoveries. Today, 51.4% of our cases remain active,” the ODHS said.
The total number of confirmed cases in Belize now stands at 1,567, with 806 of them still active.
The update ended with a plea for all Belizeans to keep safe and adhere to all recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
