By BBN Staff: Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei has tested positive for COVID-19. However, the sixty-four-year-old president told local media that he feels well.
In a statement issued by the Guatemalan government’s press office, it stated that Giammattei will be isolating himself from all public activities, and so all communications will be conducted remotely.
Giammattei informed the nation today, the same day in which the country is reopening all borders after a 6-month closure due to COVID-19.
Guatemala’s Health Ministry said that foreigners seeking to enter Guatemala would have to present a negative PCR test taken at most 72 hours before entry.
