By Aaron Humes: Police are making an appeal to the family of a mentally ill missing woman to help her come home.
Florita Harris, 56, originally from Belize City, was reported missing nine days ago by a friend, but Superintendent of Police Alejandro Cowo says she has been located in the Corozal District.
Supt. Cowo told reporters on Friday: “We are asking the public if they have any information as to any relative if they can come forward to the Police Department so that we can do arrangements for her to be brought to Belize City. We are trying to establish if there is any family member that can assist us. We have already contacted the Human Services Department and they will be assisting us with the female but likewise, we are asking for any family member to please contact us so that we can follow the other procedures that we need to do and bring her back to Belize City.”
The Superintendent said she was not in police custody.
If you can help, contact Belize City CIB at Queen Street or police in Corozal.
