Driver may face prosecution for running over baby boy

By Aaron Humes: Driver Gabino Nah has been served with a notice of intended prosecution (NIP) after a tragic accident in Camp 39, Little Belize, Corozal District. 

On Saturday, Nah, from Chunox, Corozal District, was in the village to conduct business with the owner of a warehouse. Nah had been talking to the man and got back in his vehicle to leave. 

But police say Nah failed to see 14-month-old Johan Enns in front of his vehicle and ran him over, causing immediate fatal injuries. 

Police are awaiting the result of the post-mortem examination and have taken statements from witnesses. They are also unclear as to where little Johan’s parents were at the time of the incident.
