By BBN Staff: A woman and a little girl were hit with shotgun pellets in Red Bank village in Stan Creek after a man opened fire with the weapon as an argument with his in-laws escalated.
According to police, a 55-year-old farmer has been detained for the incident. He allegedly fired a shotgun at his in-laws, which wounded a 52-year-old housewife and a 6-year-old girl. The woman was hit to her right shoulder with shotgun pellets. The little girl was hit to her right foot with pellets as well.
The woman’s husband and son-in-laws reportedly disarmed the crazed man. One of the son-in-laws received minor injuries to his foot and lip during the scuffle.
The woman and child were treated at the Southern Regional Hospital and released.
The farmer has been detained pending charges.
