By BBN Staff: The Jamaica Observer is reporting that COVID-19-related deaths within the Caribbean continue to rise.
An article published today notes that several Caribbean countries, Belize among them, recently reported new deaths linked to the virus.Guyana saw two deaths on Monday, the first a 67-year-old man and the other a 57-year-old woman, both of whom were receiving treatment at the time. The country’s death toll now stands at 67.
In the Bahamas, the death of a 64-year-old man this week brought the country’s death toll to 75.
Belize’s death toll now stands at 22 with the most recent being a 38-year-old man from Succotz Village who died yesterday.
While many Caribbean countries have not reported any new deaths, the number of positive cases continues to rise.
The Caribbean represents over 178,000 of the total global infections, according to the Caribbean Media Outlet Loop.
