By BBN Staff: The Government of Belize has issued a communique informing of a sitting of the House of Representatives on September 25 at 10 a.m.
Many anticipate that Prime Minister Dean Barrow will dissolve the Cabinet and give a date for the general elections, however, other reports indicate that announcement will not be made tomorrow.
In recent interviews, Barrow noted that he wouldn’t want the election to go beyond the first two weeks in November.
“We‘re not going to go beyond the month of November for sure. We‘re not even going to go beyond, in my view, the first two weeks in November. You can therefore narrow it down pretty much to what week we‘re looking at, if not what day exactly,” Barrow stated.
However, if the elections are not called, Barrow alluded that it may be shortly after the sitting of the House since there is some legislation that will go through the 2nd and 3rd reading.
