By BBN Staff: The Mental Health Association (MHA) in Belize will host a telethon in commemoration of World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2020.

Every year, the Mental Health Association sponsors many activities in recognition of World Mental Health Day including an annual fund-raising banquet for their Welcome Resource Center (WRC).

However, because of limitations due to COVID-19, they will instead be holding a Telethon under the theme: Mental Health for All: Greater Investment – Greater Access on World Mental Health Day which is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The MHA was instrumental in founding the WRC to provide social support to the mentally ill in Belize and continues to offer guidance and some financial support.

T-shirts are currently available for purchase at the association’s office in Belize City.

All the proceeds will go directly to the WRC.

Donors are encouraged to make pledges during the telethon either in person, by telephone, video, or Zoom and to say why they are supporting this cause.

The telethon will be live on TV, radio, and on the Welcome Resource Center’s Facebook page.
