Taxi operators in San Pedro to receive training on new COVID-19 protocols

Posted: Sunday, September 27, 2020. 9:46 am CST.

By BBN: As the country prepares to receive international tourists in less than a week, the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation continues to make all preparations possible, including hosting training sessions for taxi operators in San Pedro.

Minister of Tourism, Manuel Heredia Jr. announced today that the

Belize Tourism Board (BTB) will be hosting training for all taxi association drivers, on the new mandatory protocols for the transportation of guests after October 1.

The training sessions will be held at the Ambergris Stadium at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020.

The BTB recently announced that, according to United Airlines and American Airlines, flights to Belize for the first week of October have been completely sold out, which could be a good sign of rebounding for the industry, after being completely shut down since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
