Corozal man shot at home waiting for taxi cab

By Aaron Humes: 50-year-old Juanito Quetzal, originally from Cayo District but now residing in San Andres Village, Corozal, was unexpectedly shot while on his veranda, waiting for a taxi cab to get to the bus station in Corozal Town.

 

The incident took place around 4:40 a.m. this morning, and Quetzal is presently in the hospital recovering from wounds to the shoulder and thigh.

Police at this time say the incident is separate from any ongoing issues in town and are following leads.

Police continue their investigations into what happened and who was the shooter.
