The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that a broad area of low pressure is affecting the country, bringing more rain to most areas.

The 24-hour forecast calls mostly cloudy to overcast skies with some showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain over most of the country, increasing, especially over northern, central, and offshore areas.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 88 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 76 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 66 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing West-Northwest between 05-15 knots and the sea state will be choppy becoming rough.

“A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. A flood watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding over low-lying and flood-prone areas,” the Met Service said.

High tide will come in at 10:17 a.m. and low tide will begin at 4:33 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:43 p.m. and the moon will rise at 6:28 p.m.
