Belize Met Service: Unstable conditions prevail as Tropical Storm Gamma heads toward Yucatan Peninsula

By BBN Staff: The Belize Met Service is reporting that moist and unstable conditions will prevail today as Tropical Storm Gamma heads towards the Northern Yucatan Peninsula.

The 24-hour forecast is for cloudy at times with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms developing across the country this afternoon and then over the southern and offshore areas tonight.

Тоdау’ѕ tеmреrаturе hіghѕ wіll rаngе frоm 86 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt аlоng thе соаѕt, tо 88 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt іnlаnd, аnd 78 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt іn thе hіllѕ. Тоnіght’ѕ tеmреrаturе lоwѕ wіll rаngе frоm 75 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt аlоng thе соаѕt, tо 71 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt іnlаnd, аnd 65 dеgrееѕ Fаhrеnhеіt іn thе hіllѕ.

Winds will be gusty, blowing West between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate to rough.

” Small craft caution for occasionally gusty winds and rough seas. A flood watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding over low-lying and flood-prone areas across the country,” the Met Service said.
