40 new cases of COVID-19 identified in Orange Walk; 65 new cases countrywide

By BBN Staff: After a total of 253 samples were processed today by the Central Laboratory in the Ministry of Health, 65 new cases were identified. Forty of these cases were in the Orange Walk district and the balance (ie. 25) were from other parts of the country.

The distribution of the new cases by district is as follows:

Orange Walk – 40

Cayo – 4

Stann Creek – 6

Corozal – 7

Belize – 8

According to the Ministry, there were 32 recoveries today. A total of 1,378 cases, representing 62.75% of total cases, are now recovered.  788 cases or 35.9% of the total cases in Belize remain active.
