Belize Met Service: Windy day with a slight chance of rain ahead

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that a moderate and gusty westerly airflow prevails over the country, producing windy conditions and a slight chance of rain in some areas.

The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with little or no rainfall expected, except for the chance of light rain or brief isolated showers during today. Tonight, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop mainly over the north.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 90 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 77 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 66 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing West between 10-20 knots, and the sea state will be moderate-rough.

“A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas,” the Met Service said.

Low tide began at 6:53 a.m. and high tide will come in at 12:55 p.m. The sun will set at 5:37 p.m. and the moon will rise at 9:00 p.m.
