By BBN Staff: With another month to go, the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season could set the record for most named storms.
This year’s Hurricane Season has been active and could surpass 2005’s number of named storms which was 28.
There have been 25 named storms and names of the Greek alphabet are already being used.
In September, there were 10 named storms: Nana, Omar, Paulette, Rene, Sally, Teddy, Vicky, Wilfred, Alpha and Beta.
Usually an average season would see 2 named storms in October and one in November, however, 2020 has proven to be very active.
Technically, the season will end on November 30 but some years, there have been storms well after the date of the closing.
