69 new cases of COVID-19 and 44 recoveries reported; almost 40% of cases remain active

By BBN Staff: After processing a total of 428 tests, the Ministry of Health reports that 69 new cases of COVID-19 were identified on Saturday. In addition, there were 44 recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 1,531. Active cases are currently at 929, representing 37.2% of the total positive cases.

The distribution of the 69 new cases is as follows:

Corozal – 2 (1 Cristo Rey, 1 San Joaquin)

Orange Walk – 29 (Orange Walk Town 15, Carmelita 5, Trial Farm 3, Guinea Grass 2, San Jose Palmar 1, Yo Creek 1, Trinidad 1, August Pine Ridge 1)

Belize – 17 (City 9, 8 Miles Community 3, Ladyville 2, Western Pines 1, Lords Bank 1 and 1 from Calcutta but swabbed in Belize)

Cayo – 12 (7 at Belizario Camp Central Farm, 2 Santa Elena, 2 San Jose Succotz, 1 Benque Viejo del Carmen)

Stann Creek – 3 (1 Dangriga, 1 Hope Creek, 1 Georgetown)

Toledo – 6 (3 San Antonio, 1 San Pedro Colombia, 1 Indian Creek, 1 Fairweather Camp Punta Gorda)
