Verdes fall to Mexican Premier League team in CONCACAF preparations 

By Aaron Humes: Verdes F.C., preparing for next week’s CONCACAF League Preliminary Round match with Arcahaie F.C. of Haiti, dropped a 4-2 decision to Mexican Premier League side club Pioneros de Cancun on Sunday afternoon. 

The Green Machine named 11 probable starters under technical director Martin Dall’orso for the first half and played to a one-one draw at halftime, then switched out for another 11 to test the reinforcements brought in for the season. 

Scorers were Krisean Lopez and Brazilian Wagner. 

In the post-game report on Facebook, the team said, “Preparation games against rivals of this level are important, they raise our level of demand on the [pitch]. We will continue working at full steam trying to reach the optimal level of the team. On Wednesday or Thursday, we will have the last game of preparation. Friday [we are] scheduled to travel to Santo Domingo!!” 

The match with Arcahaie will be played on October 20.
