Belize Defense Force soldiers sent to assist prison guards

By BBN Staff: Soldiers from the Belize Defense force have reportedly arrived at the Belize Central Prison to assist with the on-going riot.

Sources tell BBN that a major motivating factor behind the riot is that the prisoners are unhappy with the mandatory lockdown insittuted last week after several guards and inmates tested positive for COVID-19.

Inmates in the Tango 7 have reportedly begun assaulting guards, and the BDF have been sent in to help restore order to the facility.
